About VRI
What is VRI?
Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) allows sign language interpreters to provide interpreting services to customers from remote locations. With effective use, it can reduce both costs and delays that are often experienced with on-site interpretation.
What is required to use VRI?
A2SL utilizes a web-based solution called VRI Direct, which does not require any software downloads. You simply need an internet connection. In order to use VRI you are required to have a camera/webcam, microphone, and a computer. This enables the interpreter, and both the Deaf and hearing consumers to see and hear one another.
How to start?
Registration
First a business will complete the registration process, then they will be able to view A2SL and its’ interpreters. Each interpreter will have their own individual profile. Business end-users are able to see interpreter profiles, qualifications, and ratings given by other customers.
Registering for an account on VRI Direct is simple. Please email support@vridirect.com, and someone will respond with a Profile Information Request form.
Payment
Use of VRI requires businesses to pre-pay for interpreting services. Once logged in, a business can use a credit card, open purchase order, or PayPal to purchase credits. Each dollar applied is equal to one credit. Credits never expire and remain available until they are used. VRI Direct is bonded to process financial transactions.
A2SL has competitive pricing for VRI services. Call us to ask for rates and service agreement information.
